abstractSynopsis:
This play describes Vincent Van Gogh's life with collage , expressing entangled passions, pains, struggles, continuous self-exploration in Van Gogh's creative life. Seven actors take turns to narrate or perform Gogh's story on the stage, which is designed as a verisimilar scooter repair shop. Through the contradictions and conflicts of characters, stories and scenes, variety of associations and arrangements occur. The story begins with characters punching in and then parodies the style of the Eslite Lecture Room to narrate Gogh's lifetime. Even with scene changes of party, picnic, blackout and starry night, the overall atmosphere echoes the main theme. Dancing, role playing and the discursive language in this play also help to deliver the themes of "from-day-to-night,""gathering and separation,""from life to death."
