abstractSynopsis:
Wei uses one-table-and-two-chairs setting from traditional Chinese opera which is flexible in terms of its adaptability to scene shifting. It symbolizes the status and the power held by the characters as well. Spoken lines and plotting are diminished in this production. The two actresses, one missing a shoe and one in black shoes, act like puppets. Through their bizarre, grotesque bodies, movement and posture, the director engages her critical viewpoint.
