Mo-Lin Wang graduated from Department of Theatre, Fu Hsing Kang College of Ministry of National Defense. He had served in the army for ten years. In 1982, after he was discharged from the army, he went to Tokyo, Japan to study theatrical art for three years. When he returned to Taiwan, he worked as a journalist in literature magazine Ren Jian for two years. Starting from 1987, he had served as planner and producer in Avant-Garde Theatre till 1990. His most memorable works include Moon Picking¡]1887¡^, an grand outdoor play mounted in a ruin along the beach and Banishing the Evil Spirits in Lanyu Island¡]1988, the first ¡§action theatre¡¨ in Taiwan. In 1991, he founded an avant-garde art group Weather Bureau of the Body whose main mission is to plan and produce the annual International Intercultural Body Performing Arts Festival. In 1997, in Peking and in 1998 in Taipei, he mounted a Taiwan aborigines¡¦ version of Greek tragedy, TSOU Oedipus, in which he served as writer, co-director, planner and producer. He has published a performing art theory, Urban Theatre and the Body (in Chinese, 1990). He¡¦s now a professional dance and theatre critic and a theatrical body trainer.
