abstractSynopsis:
Countdown is the last episode of Metamorphosis written by Chi, Wei-jan. Chi juxtaposes people from different generations (those from 1950s to 1980s) to articulate his observation and perspectives. Three men and two women celebrate the coming New Year in the entresol in a mansion. They taunt each other's relationship status by shallow jokes, outlining their hollow spirit. Boar becomes the security in this episode. He stations at the basement, shows up in the countdown party from time to time and falls in love with one of the female characters. The stage design contrasts the attic and basement, juxtaposing the two spaces on the same stage. The French window in the attic serves as a decoration that sees through nothing but the window of the building next to it.
