abstractSynopsis:
Daniu, Xiaoma and Achen were discussing a coming surprise party in an underground bar. They had different mental statuses because of different life paths. Daniu was at the peak of his life for his good connections in both the fields of politics and business. Xiaoma seemed to be a little bit frustrated for his lay-off by a newspaper office. Achen, who just won a degree abroad, was about to launch his career. During their preparation for the surprise party, surprises kept coming out. Surprisingly, they found their conversations were overheard by Wild Boar. Daniu found out that Achen cheated behind his back;Xiaoma found that his girl friend might be still in love with Achen. What even more horrifying was that Xiaoma and Achen found that what they did could be rewound. What did it mean to us? It showed us that if life could be rewound, we could change the past and foretell the future. Conventionally, people thought theatre was unique for its irreproducible presence and directness (without the intervention of a camera). Yet, in an age when life was overwhelmed by mass media, could the 「irreproducibility」 of theatre stay the same? This play aimed to deconstruct the myth of "irreproducibility" and attempted to explore the essence of theatre. If what happened in the theatre could be rewound, how was it different from that on TV and in movie? On the same token, could life be rewound? Was the re-examination of the past also a kind of rewinding? Could this on-going rewinding be just an endless repeating? An endless repeating of our errors?
