This play is an adaptation from French novelist Eric-Emmanuel Schmitt’s Oscar et la Dame Rose. This adaptation replaces the bed-ridden boy from the novel with a little girl, who is enacted in the style of a single-man clown show. It depicts how the bed-ridden girl records her changing mood on a daily basis with a tape recorder. In her imaginary world, the milk bottle can move instantly, and the pot flower can grow with rapid speed. Nevertheless, in reality, she has frictions with other hospitalized kids who are also her needed company. She eventually develops a romantic relationship with a little boy. This romance, nonetheless, comes to a stop when her medical condition gets worse. At the end of the play, she confronts fear and despair, facing the imminent threat of death. This play is performed by real actors and puppets, creating magical fantastical effects with the aides of different stage machineries.
